In the case of doctors who are not SAMF members, we prioritise short term financial assistance for items that will help either with your return to work or to make it possible for you to remain in the profession.
This may include:
- Referral to our money advisor for help with budgeting and rearranging expenditure and debts.
- Vouchers for household expenses where there is a temporary reduction in income that leads to difficulty in covering costs.
- Help with the expenses of courses and examinations to enable those in financial difficulty to progress in their career.
It should be noted that The Society does not normally help with private school fees or with legal costs
